The Enterprise Design System is a collection of components and usage guidelines that was used by Wayfair designers across the Enterprise organization to create consistent experiences grounded in best practices.
As the Product Design Lead, I managed a team of designers who supported other design teams across the broader Enterprise organization at Wayfair. I participated in roadmap planning, managed a backlog of design system updates, and collaborated closely with design leads across the business areas we supported to ensure the toolset we delivered was meeting their needs.
Partner Home is the platform used by home goods suppliers to manage all aspects of their business through Wayfair, from inventory management to shipping and delivery.
As a Product Design Lead, I worked closely with product management and designers across various teams at Wayfair who were building supplier-facing tools to re-brand from the previous name (Extranet) to Partner Home. This effort included addressing some high-priority usability concerns, such as consistency in design and functionality across products, and a visual refresh to incorporate a new logo and updated brand colors.
I led a team of designers to conduct an audit of the existing tools, prioritize the design opportunities, define new guidelines for consistency, and help evangelize the work across business units. This was the first time many of the teams worked together toward a common goal, which was a big learning and growth opportunity for the entire organization.
Media Management is a suite of tools used by home goods suppliers to manage the images, videos, documents, and materials for the products they sell on Wayfair.
As the Product Design Lead, I worked closely with product management, engineering, and internal stakeholders to drive strategic vision for this suite of tools. I acted as lead designer on key initiatives to improve the quality of media submitted by suppliers and to provide more visibility into the current state of a supplier’s media. I conducted user research, created wireframes, and produced final high-fidelity mockups. I also supported the engineering team as they built out the new functionality.
As a manager, I also tracked and prioritized the design backlog for my team of product designers and maintained close contact with product directors to ensure our work demonstrated high quality in craft and was grounded in user research.
